Guitar Tutor
Sam Goodgame
My name is Sam and I am a Guitar Tutor here at XYZ Music Academy. My musical journey began when I picked up the guitar at age seven after my dad introduced me to bands like Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden. Since then, I have gone on to study Music at GCSE level, completed a Music Performance course in college, and earned a Music Performance degree from BIMM University.
Since first learning the guitar, I’ve had several personal highlights, including performing at the Isle of Wight Festival as a session player. I also have experience performing in a wide range of environments, from tribute acts and metal bands to function bands.
My passion has always leaned toward heavy music—particularly lead playing. I’ve long been fascinated by the techniques that allow some of my biggest influences to play with such speed and ease. A few of my main inspirations include John Petrucci, Jason Becker, and Guthrie Govan.
My love for teaching began after delivering my first lesson and experiencing the rewarding feeling of helping someone improve on the instrument they love. Since then, I’ve taught students from complete beginners up to Grade 8 level. With every lesson I teach, I continue to learn how to best support the needs and goals of each individual—something I look forward to developing even further.
