“My name is Jess Price and I am the Strings Tutor at XYZ Music Academy as well as one of the Vocal Tutors. While I have been singing almost my entire life, my main instrument is the double bass which I picked up at age 7 and achieved my Grade 8 at age 13. Since then I have engaged in lots of school outreach projects to increase musical enthusiasm and provide resources to as many children as possible, which is something I’m passionate about.

I have been in demand as a choral soprano since about age 11 for my high register and ability to sight-read, and I have been teaching singing and strings since age 14. I have always been delighted to see the success my students have achieved in their exams, including students who have flourished and earned places at top conservatoires. I am classically trained and after 8 years at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, I attended the Purcell School of Music for Sixth Form where I received prizes for Music Technology and Performance.

After a gap year working at St Paul’s Cathedral School as a musical assistant, I was pleased to achieve a 100% success rate in my Conservatoire auditions and accepted a scholarship to Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Over the four years of my degree I achieved an ARSM Diploma as well as gaining lots of experience playing with professional orchestras all over the UK as well as internationally – including an all female orchestra at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland! My love for heavy music was also satisfied with my opportunities as a session bass player, including being invited to play in the string section for Bring Me The Horizon’s grammy nominated “Amo”. In July 2020 I graduated with First Class Honours and have been enjoying my new professional life teaching and sharing my passion for music.”
