My name is Maycie Fitzsimmons and I am one of the Vocal Tutors at XYZ Music Academy. Singing has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember, and my journey has taken me from my first vocal grades to performing on festival stages.

After completing a Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance at Amersham College, I went on to study at BIMM Brighton, where I earned a BA Hons in Music Business and Vocal Performance. Along the way I achieved a Grade 6 in Vocals with RSL, building the solid technique that underpins everything I do today.

I have been lucky enough to perform at countless weddings and private functions over the years, and in 2026 I took to the stage at the Liquid Spirit Gozo Festival — a highlight that reminded me just how much I love sharing music with live audiences.

After graduating, I spent two years working as a teaching assistant in a SEND school, and it was there that I truly discovered my passion for helping children learn and grow. It is deeply important to me that every child has a safe, creative outlet – somewhere they can express themselves freely and build confidence. Since I adore music and love working with young people, XYZ is the perfect fit for me.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me listening to soul music. All things soulful, really. It’s the genre that fills my heart and finds its way into everything I do.
